Holosity is running the Queensland Allied Health AI Pilot, a structured pilot with selected Queensland allied health practices. Each practice goes through our AI & Systems Opportunity Map, and one agreed priority is taken through to implementation. The findings will be published as an allied health sector report.
Why allied health, and why now
Allied health practices are using more technology than ever. More tools do not automatically mean better workflows. Most practices already have capable systems, and the admin still collects around them.
The sector data points the same way. In the Allied Health Digital Transformation Survey published by Allied Health Professions Australia in 2025, 62% of the 1,970 respondents who answered said their digital training was self-taught. 46% of workplaces were rated in the late-majority or traditionalist categories for digital readiness.
The challenge is not finding another AI tool. It is knowing what is useful, how it fits the systems and workflows already in place and how to implement it so the team actually uses it.
How the pilot works
The pilot applies the same method we use across our work. It starts with an AI & Systems Opportunity Map. We look across the practice to understand how it runs, how its systems and workflows fit together and where meaningful time and effort are going, then prioritise what is worth doing.
One agreed priority is then taken through implementation, testing, documentation and handover to the practice team. Depending on what the Map finds, that could be:
- Better configuration, workflow design or use of a system the practice already pays for
- Automation or integration when information and work need to move between systems
- A new capability when there is a genuine gap, such as an AI assistant, agent, visibility tool or purpose-built workflow
Each implementation is measured. We record how the work runs before anything changes and again after go-live, so the findings reflect measured results rather than impressions.
The pilot works with operational information: steps, systems, timing and where things break. Patient information stays in the systems each practice has already approved.
The sector report
The findings will be published as an allied health sector report. It will cover where time and effort go in Queensland allied health practices, where AI genuinely helps, where better use of existing systems is the better answer and what changed after implementation. Practices are not identified without their permission.
If you run an allied health practice and would like to know more about the pilot, or to receive the report when it is published, get in touch.
